*Small but perfectly formed we have created a new genre to fit in with the ever expanding festival scene in the UK. We are a 'Shoestring Boutique festival' offering a huge amount for our budget and passing the savings on to you with 3 jampacked days across the August bank holiday weekend.
Aeon is back for its 5th year and invites you to come and play in a field in Deepest Darkest Devon over the bank holiday weekend Friday 27th – Sunday 29th August 2010.
Well it’s more of a park than a field, with a huge lake, big old tree’s, an amphitheatre and a resident cricket club where you can while away the Sunday listening to the thwack of leather on willow... but we digress... Pack up your cares, your welly boots and sunscreen and head down to Devon for a rollicking good knees up as the leaves turn golden and the sheep turn cartwheels.
We’re off on a Global Safari this year and you can listen to all that is great and good about the independent music scene at the Prophecy Ice Station by the lake featuring everything from Punk to stark Electronica, Beat boxing, a choir, with some of the countries coolest underground talent on show or maybe you want to dance to chest throbbing beats in The JamtheChannel Temple of Dance where we will kneel at the altar of the Gods and pay homage to some all time legends, cutting edge international electronic producers, a sprinkling of the UKs hottest rising stars & some of the westcountry’s finest DJ’s & producers who will be showcasing the best in House, Techno, Dubstep, Breaks, Bass, Funky, Drum & Bass, Hip Hop, Funk, Reggae + more.
If that doesn’t tickle your goat then trot on over to Cabaret Voltaire’s Tropical Hideout for World Music, award winning Comedy and Poetry and Funky DJs to make you shake what your mama gave you. The Jazz Potato showcases local promoters and gives you a chance to get stuck in to some circuit bending trickery and finally our new Baby Theatre Stage brings you family theatre by day and grown up stuff by night whilst doubling up as a games room for those who like to, well, play games.
But it’s not just about the 5 stages of music and things though, oh no. There are luscious cafes, sports and silly nonsense, a cinema, forest school and Parent and Toddler group, green woodcraft and other workshops, market stalls selling nice things, 2 campsites and campervan area plus you can bring the dog providing it’s nice.
Online tickets available through www.southwestunderground.net.
Our line up this year is the best yet! So come and join us in a park, under tree's, by a lake in Devon.
We have never had any form of sponsorship or corporate funding - or any additional funding for that matter, its all just blood, sweat and tears and a big dollop of love and passion!

We like to be involved with charities and for the past couple of years have been delighted to have The Book Cycle and The Snooky Trust involved at the festival running their trade stands to raise funds for their causes. This year we welcome them both back but we are also excited to be helping raise money for a national charity as well.
We are going to be running The Guesty List system, where all our lucky people who get guest passes with performers and crew will be asked to donate up to £5 towards The Teenage Cancer Trust. If you would like to get involved click on the link below to see what other things they do. We will also be have collection buckets at the festival for this very worth while cause.
BOOK-CYCLE

Reg charity. 1127078
A revolutionary bookshop, not only can you “pay whatever you wish” for any of its books, but they use the proceeds to send free books to schools and orphanages in developing countries and as well as planting trees across the U.K.
An entirely volunteer run charity, Book-Cycle also promotes local artists, from graffiti workshops to theatrical spaces.
Recently they have managed to move from book parcels to whole containers, firstly to Mombasa, Kenya, for distribution to surrounding countries.
Their next shipment is bound for six school libraries in Ghana
